Exercise
An exercise program consisting of cardiovascular and resistance training can:
1. Increase metabolism and weight loss
2. Enhance physical appearance
3. Increase mental and physical well being
4. Decrease the risk for heart disease
5. Reduce blood pressure and cholesterol
6. Reduce certain cancers
7. Favorably affect type 2 diabetes
8. Improve sleep
9. Increase strength and bone density
10. Enhance immune function
Programs are customized for each person, based on their level of conditioning and state of health.
Rehabilitation (For injuries and pain)
Rehabilitation should occur in four phases:
I. Modalities/nutrition to eliminate pain at rest, in conjunction with pain free range of motion exercises
II. Stretching and range of motion exercises with self-imposed resistance
III. Isometric strengthening exercises
IV. Isokinetic/isotonic strengthening exercises e.g free weights and exercise machine
